    Couldn't believe my luck today after a hard morning's graft at the chalet to stumble upon this lovely sight, parked conveniently at the North Quay car park at Hayle Towans this afternoon.The Tube, a vintage coffee, cakes and snacks van, ideal..please be there again, much needed in these parts!

  • The Queen visits St.Ives, Friday 16th May

    What an odd sight, the Queen actually in St.Ives- very smiley, very youthful for her years, a vision of lavender, a reminder of time gone by. She travelled by Royal train to little old St.Erth then hopped onto our humble little branch line and was met by hundreds of eager flag fluttering school children. It was when I saw her beaming, iconic face that I suddenly realised how long the Queen seems to have been in my life, like a familiar nan that goes on forever! Still so much energy and as I get older her presence seems more reassuring than antagonistic as it might have been when I were younger and more rebellious. Everybody seemed genuinely excited and happy to see her. St.Ives was alive for her brief appearance and that can only be a good thing.

  • April days in Hayle

    Saturday and the sun is finally out. Walked onto the dunes and couldn't resist taking these photos. Mini Maldives..not another soul apart from some very hardy kite surfers. The Cove cafe was open and all was good with the world.
